Diva Challenge #111: "More-Mooka-Madness Monotangle-Mania

It has been some time since I have participated in any of the challenges. It seems like it has been longer than it actually has been. Finally able to get some things cleared so that I would have the time. Also helped today that the office was closed due to getting about 10" of snow last night. Fortunately it is late enough in the season that it will not stick around very long. In fact are calling for temperatures in the 50's by next weekend.

What a great challenge to return to - a Mooka Monotangle. I have to admit I have not used Mooka lot. After trying to do this I realized it was not so much about doing the tangle itself, it was more about not knowing how to finish it. Usually I have used tipple near the base. Wanted to do something different. Thought about using a black tile but decided against that. Decided that I would try to do a little more shading as a way to embellish. It was fun to do and overall I am pleased with the result.  Here it is.

I am glad that you visited to view my tile. If you have not all ready been, would encourage you to visit I am the Diva to look at all the other great submissions.

Hopefully this will be the beginning regularly participating again. As always, comments are always welcomed, encouraged and appreciated.

    1. Thanks. It felt good to do another challenge. Hopefully will be able to participate regularly again. Shading is always an adventure for me. I am getting more comfortable with it. Think maybe I need to get Chris's book and do some work. Maybe I will put it on my Birthday and Christmas wish list.

  14. Good to see you back at the challenge, Donald. I really liked your shading, I found the shading part to be tricky but you did a very nice job. Good example for the rest of us. Also the addition of the black background spots is fabulous. Hope you will have time for the challenges in the weeks to come. Thanks again for your help with my links...wish I could delete the ones that didn't work but...oh well. Just need to be more careful when I cut & paste!

  15. Thanks. I am getting more comfortable with shading. Do not know if I will ever be completely comfortable, but appreciate your encouraging comments. No problem on the link. I have done it before too. I have been using the check more just to make sure.

  16. I like the added black... maybe all Mooka needed was a little more contrast! I also like that you placed them randomly... I always feel the need to anchor it in a corner, which limits where I go from there. I'll have to try again this way and see if it works better. Good tile!

    1. Thanks for visiting and your encouraging comment. I have to admit that I did start in a corner and then just let it flow from there.
