Chris Letourneau is the first guest poster and she made the challenge to use her tangle Seton. You may recognize Chris's name as a semi-regular poster to the challenge and also the author Made in the Shade and co-author of Pattern Play. The Square One prompt was to use the tangle Punzel/Chainging. They are different but closely related. Here is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy it.
Tangles used: Seton & Punzel and a little Betweed
I primarily used the two tangles and added a little Betweed on the edges of Seton. As with a number of tiles, the shading is the most challenging part. I was not sure what to do with Seton. I am okay with the way it turned out, just not thrilled with it.
I have not looked at many of the things posted on the Diva's blog. Just a few that have shown up on my blog reader. I hope to have some time to look at what others have done. If you have not done so, would encourage you to visit I am the Diva and look at all the great art also. Give it a try your self, even if the only one that you share it with is yourself.
Thanks for visiting. As always, comments are welcomed, encouraged, and appreciated.
Go Tangle !!
It's a beautiful combination, Donald. The part with Seton looks like a beautiful Asian carpet.
ReplyDeleteDonald, I love your clever combination of Seton with Punzel (that tricky so-and-so pattern!). I like your Seton. It is substantial but with a bit if whimsy to it. AND you snuck in that Betweed that we have all been focused on from last week. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love this tile, Donald. Beautiful job on your Seton Pattern, I love your fills. The Punzel patterns are awesome. So well done.
ReplyDeleteDein Challenge 192 ist eine wunderschöne Arbeit!
ReplyDeleteYour punzel is great (one that is still a challenge for me).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tile, Donald.
ReplyDeleteLovely combinations of patterns and also Nice what you did with the inner cirkel of Seton. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tile; lovely combination of patterns!
ReplyDeletenice combination of the to patterns
ReplyDeleteThanks for your (always) comment on my blog, Donald. Do you consider showing your ceramic ovals on your blog? I would love to see them.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I am planning on putting some on soon. The ones that are finished at on display at our Art Association gift ship. I have a few that are about finished. I have to put the Modge Podge of them.
DeleteYou are very encouraging...love your blog and thoughtful comments. Your work today lovely.
ReplyDeleteReally like the tlie and am particularly impressed with the one going across the top, beautiful penmanship. I too found Seton difficult to place with other patterns but I think you've got it nailed.
ReplyDeleteHad to chuckle when I read your compliment on my ".penmanship". You would not see it her but my handwriting is pretty bad and always has been. Not exactly sure why there is such difference other than I take more time when I am doing the strokes for the tangles. Writing was the one class I got a "D" in when I was growing up.
ReplyDeleteA creative solution - "two challenges in a tile" :)
ReplyDeleteYour Seton variation is very nice. I like how you filled the circles with an inner pattern.
Also your Punzels are nicely constructed. I like the pattern plays you introduced and how they interact
I really like how you filled in Seton. It has a totally different look that way. I also like how you added just that touch of Betweed. Good for you, killing two birds with one stone. Some weeks are just like that :)
