Tangles used: Cadent, Heartrope, Zander, Flux, Zinger,Tumbleweed, and Ahh
Shading done with Prismacolor White pencil with a blender.
I used both a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen and a Signo Uni-ball Angelic White pen for the tangles. Can you tell which tangles I used which pen on?

The new pattern that I tried is Tumbleweed by Helen Williams. It is okay for the first attempt, but not as flowing as I would like or even close to what Helen accomplishes. I will keep trying.
I have not had a chance to look at many of the other posts but hope to do so during the rest of the week. Would encourage you to go to I am the Diva and look at the great art that is posted.
Thanks for visiting. As always, comments are welcomed, encouraged, and appreciated.
Go Tangle !!
Your black tile is wonderful, I like the patterns you chose and the highlights you made :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Donald, Is Tumbleweed the one that looks like a string of vegetable marrows along the left hand side? I like it and it's now on my list of things to try. I like your tile and the mix of patterns used. The shading on the Cadent makes it look like a fishing net and I like the way the Heartline edges it. What a very nice tile.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct. It is the one in the that is mostly in the lower right quadrant.
DeleteNicely done. All these post about the Uniball pen! They are in my Amazon cart right now. Can't wait to get them! Again, a fine work and I will have to try out Tumbleweed, too.
ReplyDeleteTerrific Zendala Tile, Donald. Lots of movement and interaction amongst the patterns. Love your Cadent, it is one of my favorites also, and your shading gave it lots of substance. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a nice, glowing tile! The Tumbleweed makes a great loosey-goosey contrast to the regularity of the Cadent and Heartrope. I agree, though, that you have to get up pretty early in the morning to even come close to what Helen Williams does with her tangles. But...guess you were up early, right!
ReplyDeleteI like how you used a round tile and didn't make a Zendala out of it! Your tile really flows nicely with complimentary tangles. If you have a new Signo pen, that would be the brightest?
ReplyDeleteWonderful zendala tile! Like your Zander and Cadent!
ReplyDeleteReally nice looking in the round card. I really love your Cadent design with shading. I think Cadent, Zinger and Heartrope were done with Signo???
ReplyDeleteAhhh...that is great! I am thinking that I will have to educate myself on some of these tangles as some are definitely unfamiliar. Good for you being adventurous and yet cadent is one of those favorites that makes all the difference in the area of satisfaction and enjoyment. Gotta do what you love!
ReplyDeleteDonald, nice job with the white on black!! The organic tangles look great! I have been using Lolo a lot with Heartrope and they just flow.
ReplyDeleteSo I think you need to pull those rocks out of your closet and give it a try! It really is fun! I did use the nib on the rocks because there is better control and I'm not sure a gelly pen would work. I use the acrylic ink, but have noticed that the nib clogs. So I am still experimenting! You should give it a try though! It really is so much fun and they are fun to give as gifts. I also put olive oil on them after to give them bit of a seal and a light shine! Have a great weekend! :0) Annette
Lovely tile, and your Cadent is so beautiful! It's also nice that you chose a Zendala tile.
ReplyDeleteI love zendala's, i love your drawing and i love your choice of patterns. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery nice Donald. I love the round tile, and your Tumbleweed turned out really well. It's a good one for white on black, I think… must try it myself….
