This week's Diva Challenge guest blogger is, I think, one of the more recent CZTs Katie Crommett. I guess by newer, she was after my CZT training. I remember seeing her post things though before she went to the training. Any way, her challenge to us is Simplicity. Not sure what things I will see as that can mean different things to different people. She also indicated to use only 2 - 3 tangles at the most. I think I was successful in this challenge. I only used 3 tangles and none of them are particularly complicated. I tried to keep the shading simple also. Here is what I came up with. I hope yolu enjoy it.
Tangles used: Abundies (which mine looks a lot like Narwal), Springkle, & Florz
Shading done with 4B & 2B pencils.
I have not looked at many of the things posted so far. A few have shown up in my blog reader. Hoping to get to look at as many of possible over the rest of the week. Would encourage you to check out

Thanks for visiting. As always, comments are welcomed, encouraged, and appreciated.
Go Tangle !!
Lovely, they look as though they are floating above the Florz.
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful, i like you narwal
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tile! I also like those abundies!!!
ReplyDeleteI think did a great job employing (or not employing) negative space in your tile.. You knew when enough was enough. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteVery well done. I like the springles.
ReplyDeleteBeatiful tile with a lovely Florz background!
ReplyDeleteAs I commented on another tile, I can see this is simple tangling but the effect is of something much more complex. Lovely, very pretty tile. Ax
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautifully and simply done, Donald. I love Springles. I am currently working on both Narwal and Abundies and they do seem to have a common style. Yours is really flowing; mine have yet to develop to that state LOL!
ReplyDeleteHi Donald! This is a simply beautiful tile. I love seeing Narwal paired with Spinkles! The shading is awesome. Yup, I'm a CZT 15. :) Thanks!
ReplyDeletewow, the balance between the twisty and the grid patterns! It reminds me of coming home from the beach, sand on the floor in the entry, some souvenirs picked up out of the foaming waves. Seashells! nice work
ReplyDeleteI love your abundies! It is a pleasing tile!
ReplyDeleteI really like the way narwal connects up to some of the diamonds in florz in your tile, Donald. Lovely job :) h
ReplyDeleteWow, Donald, I LOVE this tile. Narwal is so very well done and fits in Florz like it belongs there.
ReplyDeleteI think all the tangles I've seen of you know when enough is enough.
ReplyDeleteYou never overdo it.
I like this one too!
Hi Donald, I really like this. I think the combination of these three tangles works really well. I recently "discovered" Abundies and love its fluid shapes but I haven't got it to my satisfaction yet. I'm avoiding Narwal until I feel ready to tackle it.
ReplyDeleteDonald this is Gorgeous!!!! I love the whole thing!!! And I do have to say, your shading is magnificent!!! Thanks for the visit to my blog! It's always nice to see your smiling face! ;0)
ReplyDeleteI am going to be trying color on rocks, soon. I actually just got a bunch of them when I went to San Clemente beach. That whole beach is just filled with naturally plashed stones. I had to be carful not to over do it, as I was the one to carry them home :0) Have a great one! :0)Annette
