Diva Challenge # 217: " Duotangle - Dex vs Bunzo... Thirty-five!!!

This week's Diva Challenge is a Duotangle, which is to use only two tangles. The one that she chose this time are Dex and Bunzo, which she chose for the number of letters in each tangles name. The significance of this is that yesterday was her 35th birthday. Did not do anything particularly creative. After I got done, I realized there is a similar format as the one that I did last week. Have to be careful I do not get into a rut. Here is what I came up with. I hope you like it.

Tangles used: Dex, Bunzo
Did not do any shading on this with graphite. I used stippling on the Dex instead of lines as it seemed easier to do with the the space available.

I have looked at a few things that others have submitted, Most of them have been things that have shown up on my blog reader. I did not look though until I had almost finished mine so it was pretty well set.  If you have not done so, would encourage you to go to I am the Diva and check things out.

Thanks for visiting. As always, comments are welcomed, encouraged, and appreciated.

Diva Challenge #172: Duotangle - Auraknot vs Mooka

Did not get a chance to do anything for last week's challenge. I like Duotangles, but some are more challenging than others. Like a lot of others, Mooka is a tangle that I use, but not always satisfied with the way that it turns out. Really tried to just let it flow. I think maybe I got carried away. I was not that dissatisfied with the way that the Mooka turned out, but I think that it got too busy with the lines and the Auraknot got hidden. Tried to help this with a some highlighting, but not sure how successful it was. Will not have time this week, but really need to do a little more work with the black tiles and white pens. I have not done any for a while. Forgot how tricky the shading and highlighting can be. I did enjoy doing this though, so that was a plus. Here is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy it.

Used an Insignio White Angelic Colour gel pen for this. I think this has a smaller nib than the other Insignia pen. Used a Zenstone to do the shading.

If you have not all ready done so, would encourage to visit The Diva's blog and look at the other pieces submitted. I plan on trying to look at them. There are usually some really great pieces of art.

Diva Challenge #158: " Duotangle: Diva Dance + Crescent Moon"

This week's Diva Challenge is a Duotangle. It puts two tangles together that are to be used to create your tile or ZIA. The two tangles picked, Diva Dance and Crescent Moon seem to be two tangles that just go together. Both tangles use auras and filled shapes. There are probably more variations for Crescent Moon, but Diva Dance is versatile in that it does not really have a specific shape. It can fill a space of be used in a line. As is usually the case, the  most challenging thing for me is the shading. I think on this one it was not so much the tangles as it is how I used them. I was trying some different things. I hope you enjoy it.

If you have not all ready, I would highly recommend going to I am the Diva and looking at all the great pieces that others have done. If it so moves you, leave a comment about what you like. Most people who participate enjoy some feedback from others. If you are really inspired, try one of your own, even if you do not post it on the site. I plan on taking some time to look at them.

Diva Weekly Challenge #137: "Duotangle - Knights over Tipple

This is going to be a short post. I was really late in getting this done this week. I also have to get up early in the morning because of a sale being sponsored by the local art association. It will be a long day.  I like both of these tangles, but not sure I did either one justice. Overall I am pleased with the results. I hope you enjoy it.

Tried to think of a number of ways that I could vary Knightsbridge.

This is so late that most of you have all ready visited I am the Diva to look at the other pieces. If not should really do that by clicking on the above link.

Thanks for visiting. As always comments are welcomed, encouraged, and appreciated.
