Diva's Weekly Challenge #99: Guest Post- String Challenge v. XI "Looped Border String Challenge"

This was a fun challenge to do but just in case it was not enough of a challenge I decided to add a few of my own. I decided that I would use mostly new tangles or only tangles I had used infrequently. Most were new tangles. I also wanted to try to transition to each section in some way. Did pretty well with the latter until the last tangle I did, which was the middle tangle. As always, shading was the most difficult part of this challenge. Generally pleased except for Vitruvius. That was a challenge all its own. Here is the finished tile. Hope you like it.

If you have not all ready been there, go to I am the Diva and check out all the other submissions. Thanks to Laura and Margaret Bremner for the another great challenge.  Can check out some other examples of looped strings on Enthusiastic Artist .

  2. I had completely forgotten about cabbage roses until I saw them here. This is a wonderful assortment. Thank you for the reminder.

    1. Thanks. There are so many tangles that I have not used. Need to keep challenging myself to try new ones. Hard to keep up with all the new ones that keep coming out.

  3. You've done a lovely job with it, Donald. Terrific idea to give yourself this further challenge. I know I have go-to tangles that I tend to use a lot. Reallly love your "roses" blooming in this tile :)

    1. Thank you Helen. I find it so easy to go back to things that I am use to and like. I need to challenge myself more to use new things. Speaking of which, I like the new ones that you posted. Have not had a chance to try them yet but hoping to soon.

    1. Thanks. Shading is the hardest part for me. Have you found anything that works with the tiles or have you tried new types of tiles.
