Square One: Bunzo - Take 2

I really do like the tangle Bunzo. I think that the flow of the pen makes it easy for me to relax as I am not thinking about curves or where it needs to end. It is a stroke that flows easily from my pen. I started this last night when I was tired and also avoiding getting information together for taxes. I know I have to do it, but it is a lot more fun to tangle. Much like the last one I did not worry much about shading the tangles but more shading the total image. It is okay, I probably could have extended the shading around Bunzo out a little further. I did not want to take the time to add to it as I have a lot of things to get to. Here is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy it. I enjoyed creating it.

Tangles used: Bunzo, Quandary, Tripoli, &  a little Quib.
I used a #2 pencil for the shading, maybe should have used a 4B, and the white dots in the triangles in Quandary are with a white Gelly Roll pen.

Square One: The quandary with Quandary

The Square One focus tangle this week is Quandary, or Quandry, depending on who is spelling it. I was pleased with this choice as this is the tangle that was first introduced at my CZT seminar. From comments from people this is a tangle that people either like or they have serious issues with it. I admit that at times it can be challenging. Usually I find it so if I try to make the rice kernels too close together. There are a few wonky ones in there as well a couple of times where I only had 5 kernels. Another reason that I like this tangle is there are numerous ways to embellish it. That being said, I decided not to do that with this tile. Here is what I came up with. I hope you like it.

Tangles used: Quandary, Betweed, & Tipple
Shading done with 2B, 4B & 6B graphite pencils

I wanted to try something a little different with this one. I had seen other tangles within tangles before but do not think I have tried it before. As is usually the case, the image that I had in my head is different than what ended up on the tile, but that is not a big issue. Hopefully I will have some time this week to try some other things with this tangle.

If you have not tried this tangle before, I would encourage you to give it a try. Don't give up on it. See how may different ways you can finish it.

Diva Challenge # 161: "In a Quandary about Quandary"

This is probably going to be a short post. This week's challenge is to use the tangle Quandary. I feel a special connection with this tangle as it is the one that was introduced at my CZT training. I liked it when I first saw it. It has puzzled many though, much like Tripoli, people can get lost in the pattern and also get overly concerned about doing it correctly. I have not had much difficulty with it. I enjoy it. It does have a lot of possibilities and I am sure that you will see many of them in this challenge. This tile may end up serving a dual purpose. It has been quite a week and did not have time to do a tile to send to CBS. Have not decided yet, but I may end up using this one. It will get there later than most of the others but not sure that is as important. Here is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy it.

Tangles used: Quandary, Zander, Flux, Fife, Zinger, Fescu

I have not looked at any of the other posts for this challenge but am looking forward to doing so. If you have not done so, I would encourage you to go to I am the Diva and look at the things others have posted. Should be a great show.
